Billing and trial

Understand the trial, usage, and billing

The current public offer is a 90-day trial with 5,000 submitted document copies per UTC calendar month. It starts after email verification and requires no card.

Trial terms

A newly eligible self-service account receives 90 days with an allowance of 5,000 submitted document copies per UTC calendar month. The trial starts when the owner successfully verifies the registration email. No card is collected, there is no automatic charge, and the trial is not a Stripe subscription trial. Invitations, child accounts, and existing accounts do not receive a new trial retrospectively.

The start and deadline are fixed UTC instants. Resending verification, changing an email address, signing in, or changing team membership does not renew or extend the trial. Closing enrollment for new trials does not erase an existing account's saved trial terms.

What counts as usage

One unit is one submitted document copy: job quantity × copies. A new valid job reserves its units when the server accepts it. An invalid or rolled-back request does not consume usage, and retrying the same idempotent request does not count twice. A job that later fails or is canceled does not automatically refund its units because capacity was reserved at admission.

Usage follows the root account. Jobs submitted for a child account consume the root account's allowance. Existing jobs are not added retroactively when enforcement starts. The count is about accepted document copies, not physical sheets and not a promise of confirmed output.

Track usage and warnings

Open Billing to read the current entitlement, used amount, limit, period, and reset time. Usage resets at 00:00 UTC on the first day of each calendar month, not on the trial start date. A monthly reset does not move the trial deadline or restart an expired trial.

Owners receive a notice at 80 percent of the allowance and another when the allowance is exhausted. The console also shows a usage banner from 80 percent. A submission that would exceed the remaining allowance is refused whole with quota_exceeded; PrintHook does not partly accept the requested copies and does not create an overage invoice.

When the trial ends

At the deadline, new printing stops with trial_expired unless the account has a valid paid entitlement. Already accepted jobs, dispatch retries, idempotent replays, account sign-in, and access to existing records continue. A later UTC month boundary does not restart the expired trial. Your account remains accessible so you can review history, export diagnostics, or contact Support.

Paid checkout is not available yet. PrintHook does not publish or promise paid prices in this help center. Review the pricing page for the current offer and clearly labeled future planning information before making a purchase decision.

Who can manage billing

Billing management is limited to a signed-in root-account owner. API keys cannot manage billing, and the console blocks billing actions while an owner is viewing an impersonated child account. A hosted checkout or customer portal appears only when billing is configured and available for the account; a return from a hosted page prompts synchronization but does not by itself change entitlement.

If usage or entitlement looks wrong, capture the account ID, relevant job IDs, displayed period, and reset time, then email support. Do not send card details, keys, passwords, or document content.
